Shearing

Once a year in late Spring, we round up these guys to shear them. Trust us, it is not an easy job! They are not very friendly and boy are they strong and fast! So, it is a challenge every year. Their fiber needs to be at least 2” in length to shear them, so not every animal gets shorn every year. At every shearing, all animals get their nails clipped and their yearly vaccination and the ones that don’t get shorn, get their bellies and necks shaved so they are more comfortable for the upcoming hot summer season. We only use professional shearers, and we’ve been fortunate to have the same ones for the last 8 years. We make sure the animals are safe and very loved during the shearing process and beyond!
